Open Tuesday through Sunday with late hours on Thursdays until 9 PM. Closed Mondays. Last entry is thirty minutes before closing.

Last entry is thirty minutes before closing. Closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. The museum stays open on Norwegian Constitution Day, 17 May.

A standard ticket covers the full museum, including the Munch Hall and the temporary exhibitions in the Light Hall. The museum sells tickets at the door and on its official site — entry is rarely sold out, but Saturday afternoons can queue.

A handful of programmes make the museum accessible at low or no cost throughout the year.
Thursday evenings
Free admission to all visitors after 5 PM on the last Thursday of every month. Late opening until 9 PM.
Under 18, always
Children and teenagers up to and including age 17 enter free, every day, no booking required.
Constitution Day
Free general admission on 17 May, with extended programming in the Forum and Light Hall.
Annual pass
The museum offers an annual pass at 600 NOK that covers unlimited entry, member previews, and a 10% store discount — cheaper than three single visits. Issued by the museum directly.
